Whew! It has been a whirlwind few months for me. I finished my leadership classes at the first of June, and I officially started my new job as Assistant Manager at my new store. I love it! Everyone there is great, and they welcomed me with open arms. It is a very relaxed environment to work in, which has been a hard adjustment, as I am use to running full out all day. But I’m not going to complain! It is a great place to work. I know that I can learn a lot at this store, as well as be a help to others.
It is a strange feeling going from a go-to person, who was one of the best at my job, to someone who is the least experienced of my peers. My confidence which is normally at a high is inconsistent. I am not use to doubting myself. But I know that this comes with the newness of my position. I don’t think it will last long.
My new schedule is amazing! I work three days and then I am off three days. True, that means putting in 12 hour shifts, but it is so worth it! For three days all I do is work, and then I have three days to do whatever I want. Like this weekend, I am off Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so we are spending the weekend at the Lake. This will be the second trip this summer. It is always so much fun and so relaxing!
I also got to go to Panama City Beach this summer with my Sister and her boyfriend. It was beautiful down there. The sand is so white and the water was so clear. I enjoyed swimming, looking for shells, or just sitting on the beach and reading a magazine. I got to take my first helicopter ride. It was so neat. We were going 115 miles per hour, but it felt like 30. The view was amazing! We also went to the dog track, which was so cool! I placed a couple bets but didn’t win anything. I’m still kicking myself for not betting on Jedi Ninja Girl! Really! How did I miss that one?!
It has been a great summer, and it is hard to believe that is almost over. How has your summer been? Did you do anything fun?
