What to do on your Staycation

Being with the same company for 15 years has it’s perks. The best being four weeks of vacation! But that means that I’ll be spending some vacations at home. Here’s are my tips for what to do on your Staycation:

Plan date days with your significant other

What’s something local that you haven’t tried? Cap and I spent a day at some of the local museums. It was a lot of fun and something different for us. We also planned a day at the park for walking and a picnic.

Visit your family

Does your family live close? How often do you get to see them? Now might be a great time to visit for a few days. Mine only lives an hour a way, so I dropped by for a few days to spend time with Mom and Dad.

Have lunch with a good friend

You probably have some friends that you don’t see lot of because your schedules conflict. Your Staycation will be the perfect time for the two of you to get together since your schedule will be more flexible.

Pamper yourself

What’s your idea of a pamper day? Maybe it’s soak in the tub while reading a good book. Or giving yourself a pedicure. Or having a movie marathon. I enjoyed a day at the Spa for a facial and a massage. Whatever way you like to pamper yourself, put aside a day of your Staycation to do so.

Read some good books

Now’s the time to catch up on your TBR list. I recommend easy reads since it is your Staycation. I read Papertowns by John Green and Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick. Both were quick and entertaining reads.

Binge watch your favorite show

If you’re like me, your Netflix queue is huge! Now’s a great time to watch some of those shows you’ve been dying to catch up on. Cap and I watched Farscape together. And I binged watched 3rd from the Sun on my own.

Tackle the cleaning projects you’ve been putting off

Not exactly the most fun item on the list, but probably the most necessary. For me, I did all my Fall cleaning while on my Staycation. I dedicated my first day to it, so that I could truly enjoy the rest of my week off.

Do you ever Staycation? What are some of the things you enjoy when you do?
