What I’m Into – December 2015

This is the What I’m Into link up at Leigh Kramer’s blog. Be sure to stop by and check out all the other blogs in the link up.

Whew! December was a busy month! But that was to be expected, it’s the holidays after all. And I work in retail, so there was little time for rest. It was a wonderful and fun month, but I’m glad to have a break from all the busyness now.

Here is what I’m into in December:

All the Christmas Things!

Buffy is tired from the busy day.

For the past several years, I’ve had to put up my tree all by myself, which always felt a little lonely. Even with Buffy around. But this year, I had Cap! We put up my tree and decorated the apartment. He loved how I go all out for Christmas. I loved having someone to share it with.

Cap and I also went on a double date with my Sister and Brother-in-law to see the Christmas lights at Rock City! They were amazing, as usual!

My sister and I also went to the ballet to watch The Nutcracker. It was my first ballet and I loved it!

There was also the annual Christmas party with the girls. And of course, Buffy was invited too!

And then there was Christmas Day with my family. Cap and I made chicken and dumplings. Well, mostly Cap. But I did season everything.

All the Baking

One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is make treats for my family and friends. I’m not that great at cooking but I do love to bake and make candies. Here are a few of my favorite treats to make:

Books

There wasn’t much time for reading in December, but I did manage to finish the last book in The Lunar Chronicles, Winter! It was amazing! Definitely the best book of the series! Everyone got the ending that they deserved. Winter made my 28th book of the year. Which for me is a lot! I’m proud of myself for reading so many books this year.

Movies

My friend Christin and I went to see Mockingjay Part 2. It has been a while since I read the books, so I was fuzzy on some details, but I felt like they stayed pretty true to the books.

Cap and I went to see the new Star Wars. It was awesome! I was excited to see it because I wanted to see Han, Leia, and Luke again. I was a little meh about the new characters, but it didn’t take long to fall in love with Rey, Finn, and Poe! And of course BB-8! They were all fun characters to root for! I’m really excited to see where these characters go next.

TV

It was all about Jessica Jones! Cap and I watched it together, and we both agreed that is was excellent. It was really hard to wait between episodes, as we had to watch on our mutual days off. But oh! It was awesome!

Well, this what I was into in December. How about you? What were you up to? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Your baking list sounds SOOO good! I’m especially eyeing the oreo thingies!!! 🙂

Star Wars really was wonderful!!! I’m excited for all of the new characters. I wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I did….But I really do!

I haven’t heard of Jessica Jones, so I’ll have to look it up! We’ve been busy watching Chirstmas movies, but I’ll be looking for something new come January.

    • The oreo balls are amazing! And Jessica Jones is really good. It’s a violent show, but she’s a character you can’t help but root for. And yay! For more Star Wars love!

  2. Seeing a ballet is on my bucket list! We made gingerbread, biscotti, coconut macaroons, and three kinds of fudge in December. We had some issues with the fudge… maybe I need a new candy thermometer?
