It’s so hard to return to blogging when you’ve been out of the groove for a while. The need to write is still there, but making yourself actually take the time to sit down and put your fingers to the keyboard is hard.
So much has happened over the last few months. Cap and I bought a house. Then we eloped and moved into said house. All over an 11 day period. To say it was hectic is an understatement.
I had vacation right after the Christmas holiday, and we found out that we would be closing on the house on December 29th. Since I didn’t want to live in our new house alone, we decided to get married on vacation as well.
I didn’t know how insane an idea that was!
For one thing, I completely underestimated how long it would take to move my stuff from the apartment to the house. I thought two days at most.
It took a week.
Just imagine how long it would have taken if I hadn’t had a KonMAri journey last year?!
The whole process of packing up was overwhelming and there were times I was almost in tears because there was so much stuff! It was never ending! I hated everything I had ever bought!
Cap worried that there wouldn’t even be room for his stuff because I had so much!
It was a nightmare!
While I was busy packing, Cap was busy painting the house. I helped with that some too, but he did the majority of it. He also took down some of the cabinets in the kitchen to open it up. So we were both working our butts off.
I pushed myself so hard that I got sick. We thought that we might have to postpone the elopement it was that bad. But I woke up that morning feeling better so we were able to proceed.
Cap cried when I walked down the aisle. I laughed. It was typical of us both! I’m so glad that we chose to elope. It was simple and stress-free but wonderful! And really it was perfect for us because neither of us like a lot of attention.
A couple days after the wedding though I had a relapse and got sick again. That part was terrible! Since I had to go back to work which meant it was hard to get the rest I needed to recover.
I’m just now starting to feel normal again.
There’s still so much to do! Completely unpack, move Cap’s dog in, have my name legally changed. But we’re trying to take it one day and one task at a time.
And no matter how hectic these past few months have been, I’ve never been happier!
And finally having time to sit down and write about it all feels wonderful!
So, this is what I’ve been up to, now what’s going on in your world?
