Who I Am
My name is Paula. I am a geeky shopaholic, who is moody, socially awkward, stubborn, funny, (though not always intentionally), and a bit of a dreamer. I have a short attention span and deep-rooted fear of commitment; it’s possible that the two are somehow related. I believe Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are more than just books; they are a way of life. I actually enjoy crappy sci-fi movies. I would rather be reading or on the computer than doing anything else, except for traveling. I am always right. I am afraid to do a lot of things, but I do them anyway, just to prove to myself that I am not a coward. I don’t consider myself a feminist, but it makes me mad to be told I can’t do something because I am a girl. I think sleep is a waste of time. I don’t think I’m better than other people, but when people continuously act like idiots, it really makes it hard not to. I would most likely be sorted into Hufflepuff.
I am a born-again Bible-believing Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of a Living God, who died on a cross, was buried and rose again the third day. He did this to save me and other sinners like me.
Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,”
Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
When I was a little girl, I loved to read Nancy Drew Mysteries. These books instilled in me a desire for adventure and to see the world. And that is what I have done! So far I have been to Greece, Egypt, Hawaii, Kenya, London, Paris, Switzerland and Italy. It is amazing to visit the places I read about as a little girl in the Nancy Drew books. Wherever Nancy went, I am going to go too! Maybe that sounds silly to some, but I owe a lot to those old yellow-backed books.
Curling up with a good mystery book when it is storming outside. Going on a long four-wheeling ride with my friends. Going Anywhere. Anytime. Monk Marathons. Fantasy books that take me to a new world that I fall in love with. Going shopping with my Sis. Looking at Jared Padalecki. Working on my website. Cardigans. People who like to talk a lot, because I don’t like to talk. Nancy Drew. Winnie the Pooh. Finding a new challenge. Meeting people that like the same geeky things I like. Dragonflys.
Getting up early. People who take no pride in their work. Passive-aggressive people. Say what you want and what you mean! It’s not hard. Having dinner with someone, who spends the whole time texting on their cell phone. People who have no tolerance for Christianity, but expect me to have tolerance for them and their religion/views. Remember it is a free country, if you don’t like what I have to say, tough! I don’t like what you’re saying either, but you have the right to say it.
