Day 30 – Why do you write?

Because I have to.

It’s really just as simple as that.

I remember being a kid and writing stories and drawing pictures to go with them. I was always thinking up story ideas. I had so many different worlds in my little head.

I started writing in a journal when I was 11. It was something that I needed to do. I’m not always able to express myself verbally. I get tongue-tied. My brain works faster than my mouth I guess. But on paper I don’t have that problem. It just feels more natural.

Now, I have my blog. It’s my place to write about all the things that I love and find interesting, not to mention all the opinions and rants that run through my head.

So, why do you write?

  1. No way! Did you just blog 30 days in a row, Paula? I’ve missed so much… and I’ve missed you! =) I absolutely love your new color scheme and set up.

In terms of your reflection question, your post had me initially thinking that writing doesn’t come as naturally to me as it does for others such as yourself. But then I realized that as a child I loved writing story starters, in my adolescent years I would write to organize my thoughts/feelings during the most intense events, and now I blog because I love to. I think the only reason I wrote so minimally in the years in between is because I prioritized other things. =P
